I grew up simple in the mountains of southern West Virginia. I say “y’all”, talk with my hands, like my tea sweet, and chili AND slaw on my hot dogs. If you haven’t ever tried it, do it. You won’t be disappointed. I married my best friend, acquired two fur babies that I LOVE (crazy dog mom here!), and I have two gorgeous kiddos who light up my life!!
I have been infatuated with photography for as long as I can remember. I was the 6 year old running around at family reunions taking photos of peoples legs because that was my vantage point at the time, the 7 year old who took and lost a 110 film camera to Disney World, and I was the 16 year old that learned how to develop film in the dark room of her high school while skipping classes. When my son was born I knew I wanted to take my skills to a new level. So I did. For Christmas that year I received a digital camera and I spent hours reading and learning and practicing. I spent that whole winter with the camera in my hand and my sons face, which could potentially explain why he now runs from me when the camera comes out. Spring time blossomed and so did my willingness to expand and photograph some very willing friends. And just like that, I fell in love with photography all over again. I fell in love with precious newborn babies, young couples on the cusp of a life together, high school seniors ready to spread their wings and leave the nest, and beautiful brides with handsome, adoring grooms. Through many tears and trial and error I am where I am today. I learn something new every time I pick up my camera and I am so excited to see where this adventure takes me!
