Salem, West Virginia || Wedding || Desirae & Bob

I feel like I start every wedding blog post gushing about how much I love weddings.  But it's true.  I am 100% honest and genuine when I say that I LOVE weddings!!  From the moment I spoke to Desirae about her outdoor, farm wedding, I knew I was in for such a special day!  Under the most gorgeous blue sky, Desirae and Bob committed their lives to each other in front of fifteen family members.  It was one of the smallest and most intimate, and sweetest weddings I have ever been to.

Confession number one, I am not accustomed to capturing the grooms face.  As most of my weddings in my two years of shooting have been in a second shooter capacity, I typically find myself in the back of the ceremony capturing the entrance of the bride.  I see those final moments before the double doors open, I hear those last words exchanged between father and daughter.  I capture the best angle possible of the gown going up the aisle, the veil trailing behind.  It was by the far the sweetest thing to see Bob's face completely light up when he saw Desirae walking towards him.  Confession number two, his express made me completely tear up.

The one word that stands out to me that is the best summary of Desirae and Bob's wedding day is Joyous.  Everyone was so full of joy.  And it showed and was contagious!!

I am a sentimental kind of gal, and I loved that Desirae purposefully chose her jewelry.  The gold watch was her grandmothers and the turquoises ring belonged to Bob's grandmother.

The groom also had a special sentimental touch.  His gold cuff links belonged to his grandfather.

I am so incredibly honored to have been there to witness Desirae and Bob's love and share in their special day with their sweet families.  I always know I have had a good wedding day when I leave feeling like family.  When brides, grandparents, and mothers hug me, I know in my heart that I am doing what I should be.  Thank you Desirae and Bob for allowing me to feel like part of your families!
